Description Martin Wegner 2014-04-08 12:32:03 UTC
I have configured my quasselclient of =net-irc/quassel-0.10.0 to "Automatically connect on startup" so it shows directly the "Authentication required" dialog after startup so that I can enter my core account's password. Directly after hitting Enter resp. clicking OK, the quasselclient crashes:

$ quasselclient
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/59-google-droid-sans.conf", line 61: Having multiple values in <test> isn't supported and may not work as expected
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/59-google-droid-sans.conf", line 96: Having multiple values in <test> isn't supported and may not work as expected
No DockManager available
Enabling compression...
Using the DataStream protocol...
Starting encryption...
[1] 28415 floating point exception quasselclient

I will attach a stack trace of this crash.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure quasselclient to automatically connect to core w/o password set.
2. Enter password in authentication required dialog and hit enter.
Actual Results:
quasselclient crashes with floating point exception.

Expected Results:
Should not crash, of course.

I found this workaround for now:

1. Run quasselclient.
2. Click "Cancel" on "Authentication Required" dialog.
3. Manually select "Connect to core" from menu.
4. Enter password, click "OK", and no crash occurs.

So that's mildly amusing. I do wonder if you can reproduce it without the nvidia driver :)

Actually, I can reproduce it also on a system running on Intel graphics. It also crashes, with the same backtrace.

Info on that system:

Can confirm. This is a legitimate floating point exception - you are taking a modulo by zero :)

Program received signal SIGFPE, Arithmetic exception.

CC-ing qt team since at first glance this seems like a bug in qtgui's QCleanlooksStyle engine.
