Since Gentoo is moving to the X.org server, it seems appropriate that the xfree-drm package should be renamed to x11-drm, or xorg-drm. xfree-drm doesn't require XFree, it works just fine with X.org as well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Yes. I was thinking of renaming it to just 'drm,' actually.
drm might be a little bit vague (digital rights management and whatnot). What about something like drm-3d?
That's a little too far out in comparison to the upstream name. dri-drm or x11-drm might be the way to go.
I like dri-drm.
I guess this can be closed; seems x11-drm was chosen. I think x11-drm was the right choice because I seem to recall reading that DRM can be used for stuff other than DRI... or maybe that was DRI and DRM can be used for things other than accelerated OpenGL. :)
Thanks.
