It works fine for me for a long time, in my case, I have tested the following:
net-misc/networkmanager-0.9.6.4
net-misc/networkmanager-openconnect-0.9.6.2
net-misc/networkmanager-pptp-0.9.6.0
gnome-extra/nm-applet-0.9.6.4

Reproducible: Always
