Created attachment 327474 [details, diff] a patch for the xdm init script The package in question is x11-base/xorg-server. The "old version" of the entrance login manager is no longer maintained and has no packages available. On top of this, elsa, an equivalent piece of software, was recently renamed to entrance and is under fairly active development. Would it be possible to alter the xdm init script? I've attached a patch that when applied against files/xdm.initd-8 should fix the issue.

Oh, I'll have to keep that in mind the next time around. Haven't really had too much experience with submitting patches. I'll attach one now. By the way, how do absolute paths work in these cases? The output I got by doing `diff -u /usr/portage/x11-base/xorg-server/files/xdm.initd-8 /etc/init.d/xdm` looked perhaps a bit too specific to say the least.
