Description Timothy Messier 2012-10-12 15:07:33 UTC
I used catalyst to build a custom livecd. When I boot that cd there is no /run directory, which causes /var/run to be a broken symlink. This causes some services to fail because they cannot create pids in /var/run. I downloaded an official gentoo livecd and noticed the same issue.

I am not sure if this is directly a catalyst issue or some other component. It might be a genkernel issue as it appears the initrd that genkernel creates is responsible for creating the root directories for the livecd environment.

Reproducible: Always
