The latest version of Unbound is 1.4.18  [1].    The latest version in Portage is 1.4.17, and the latest stable version is 1.4.16  [2].

 * --with-libunbound-only build option, only builds the library and not the daemon and other tools.
 * --with-nss build option (for now, --with-libunbound-only), uses libNSS for crypto operations.

I have left these two out for now. The upstream build system doesn't seem to be quite ready yet for the former, which kind of blocks the latter.

Anyway, 1.4.18 is in the tree now.
