The current stable does not work with the current user space.

Arches, please test & mark stable =x11-wm/awesome-3.4.11 as the current stable, 3.4.8, is no longer usable. This is a non-maintainer keyword add for the good of the portage tree. Any complaints direct to me please.

my rc.lua config

amd64: builds ok.

I've tried this in past, but it's somehow incompatible with stable dbus (when I emerge new awesome, stuff that used to work (e.g. global key shortcuts) stops).
Perhaps something has changed, but 3.4.11 is a no-go for me.

Anyone noticed similar behaviour?

I haven't had any problems at all with the same configuration file I was using with the current stable which stopped working with the versions of the current user space.

Archtested on x86: Everything OK.

- Compiled with various use-flags successfully.
- Used for several hours so far without any issues.

I haven't had any issues but then again my rc.lua is fairly stock. Apart from the default global key shortcuts, I have XF86AudioRaiseVolume, XF86AudioLowerVolume, Print and modkey+x (changed from run lua) set up and don't have any issues with them. This is with sys-apps/dbus-1.4.18.

ppc done; closing as last arch
Comment 11 Tomáš "tpruzina" Pružina (amd64 [ex]AT) 2012-05-09 13:48:00 UTC
Sorry for making noise, but I found what caused an issue with my my awesome setup.
Bash completion did not work due to way the X was started, when I attempted to debug the issue I found that newer versions of awesome must be started from shell environment (as opposed to execution method that systemd uses, probably syscall).
Comment 12 Julian Ospald 2012-05-10 23:05:02 UTC
I took the liberty to apply the patch from bug
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408025

since MATSUU didn't respond for some time now.

CCing back amd64
