Description Peter Humphrey 2012-01-16 11:58:48 UTC
I get an error at startup: Unhandled kernel version 3.0.6.

This is on an Intel Atom box which I use as my LAN server.

Reproducible: Always

And laptop-mode-tools-1.60 ?

If that works, we can just file a stabilization request for newer version
Comment 2 Peter Humphrey 2012-01-16 14:33:26 UTC
That version seems to be unavailable on x86 (I can see it on amd64 though):

# eix laptop-mode-tools
[D] app-laptop/laptop-mode-tools
     Available versions:  1.55-r1 ~1.55-r2 {acpi apm bluetooth scsi}
     Installed versions: 1.55-r3{tbz2}(16:32:37 01/01/12)(acpi -apm -bluetooth -scsi)
     Homepage:            http://www.samwel.tk/laptop_mode/

Looks like I should set the acpi USE flag, but that's a separate matter.

Correction: I quoted what my compile server reported in its chroot. I see it is available on the target box so I'll try it there.
Comment 4 Peter Humphrey 2012-01-16 15:06:14 UTC
Version 1.60 installed OK. With the default config I get this at startup:

/usr/share/laptop-mode-tools/modules/wireless-power: line 78: eth0: command not found
Failed.                                                                   [ ok ]

(Note the OK even though it's failed.)

As this box has no wireless port I set:
CONTROL_WIRELESS_POWER_SAVING=0 in wireless-power.conf,
CONTROL_IWL_POWER=0 in wireless-iwl-power.conf and
CONTROL_IPW_POWER=0 in wireless-ipw-power.conf.

I no longer get the error message.

Hope that helps.
