Test log with X and DBUS, 2 of 37 fail

For the record here's the test log even in the most benevolent case
Comment 2 Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2011-12-03 15:44:01 UTC
The additional tests that fail without X mostly fail just with "Cannot connect to X server".

Tests restricted for now.

Needs investigation why the virtualx automagic in kde4-base.eclass does not work anymore, I thought I had nailed that down...

gentoo64 katepart-4.7.3_build # ctest

97% tests passed, 1 tests failed out of 37

Total Test time (real) = 17.62 sec

gentoo64 katepart-4.7.3_build # nano Testing/Temporary/LastTest.log
yields in part

********* Start testing of RangeTest *********
Config: Using QTest library 4.7.4, Qt 4.7.4
PASS   : RangeTest::initTestCase()
PASS   : RangeTest::testTextEditorRange()
klauncher(9107) kdemain: No DBUS session-bus found. Check if you have started the DBUS server.
kdeinit4: Communication error with launcher. Exiting!
PASS   : RangeTest::testTextRange()
PASS   : RangeTest::testInsertText()
PASS   : RangeTest::testCornerCaseInsertion()
PASS   : RangeTest::cleanupTestCase()
Totals: 6 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped
********* Finished testing of RangeTest *********

The plot thickens it seems. The dbus dilemma yet again, however in this instance despite Exiting with error, the test is recorded as a pass.

This is new.

PASS   : ViModeTest::VisualModeTests()
PASS   : ViModeTest::cleanupTestCase()
Totals: 9 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped
********* Finished testing of ViModeTest *********
However;

Test Failed.
"kate-vimode_test" end time: Jan 15 03:46 WST
"kate-vimode_test" time elapsed: 00:00:00

So I have no idea what's going on here.

gentoo64 katepart-4.7.3_build # rc-status | grep dbus
 dbus                                                              [  started  ]

The dbus session again is present in the system but it seems established that it can't be utilised by a test phase.

The dbus error line

klauncher(9136) kdemain: No DBUS session-bus found. Check if you have started the DBUS server.

is found in the case of most of the tests in the Testing/Temporary/LastTest.log.
Obviously they cause an abort and record error when the test is run from the ebuild but not when ctest is run manually in the sandbox directories.

Tests are restricted and we have decided that it's not currently useful to track this issue.
