Description Nikolaj Šujskij 2011-11-02 07:40:07 UTC
File "libcap-2.22.tar.bz2" is absent on distfiles.gentoo.org (as well as other Gentoo mirrors). `www.kernel.org` reports 404 too, and {uk,us,at,fr,de}.gentoo.org hosts cannot be resolved.

I could attach build.log file, but there's not much in it apart from what I've already said, and I can't get rid of ru_RU locale in it (wget seems to use system one no matter what I set for root or in /etc/portage/bashrc).

It's avaliable here: http://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/linux/libs/security/linux-privs/libcap2/libcap-2.22.tar.bz2
Comment 4 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2011-11-02 14:32:25 UTC
it's on some kernel.org mirrors, but not most. i've pushed it to the gentoo mirrors manually.
Comment 5 Blake Leverett 2011-11-04 12:18:41 UTC
I just got this error on Nov 4, 2011. And lately I've been manually fetching a couple of files every time I update (once a week), which is quite annoying.

Is there a way to fix this? Maybe I need to put more mirrors in make.conf. Right now I have this:

GENTOO_MIRRORS="rsync://rsync.us.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage"
SYNC="rsync://rsync.us.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage"

The trouble is back as of 18/02/2013
