In a fresh lxde-meta installation, with a session started with "startx", the logout button at the right side of the panel has no icon and does not function. In the panel configuration file that is automatically generated, there is a reference to the lxde-logout.desktop file but that file is not installed. As lxde-logout is installed via lxde-common, I assume that lxde-common should take care of installing such file. Version of lxde-common installed is 0.5.5 If additional information is needed, please let me know Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install lxde-meta 2. Start session (with startx) 3. Actual Results: Undefined icon instead of logout icon at most-right position in panel. Clicking on the icon does not result in any action. Expected Results: gnome-logout icon should be displayed (gnome-logout.png is in /usr/share/lxpanel/images lxde-logout should be executed
Created attachment 284717 [details] desktop file Hi. Can you please copy that file to /usr/share/applications/ and let me know if that works for you? I don't have LXDE right now to test the patch myself. Thank you
On a default installation, the button on the right side of the panel is called "Application Launch Bar". There is no logout button there. Are you sure that you have a logout button by default over there?
Markos, 1. My LXDE environment was only a temporary one and I do not have it at present 2. The attachment that you added is the same as I found on the Internet (https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/17975) and that worked for me. 3. As I said, the reference to the lxde-logout.desktop file is in the default Gentoo installation and both the Ubuntu and Debian installation (and according to the Archlinux bug report also the Fedora installation) have the logout button there. I hope this helps
Fixed in lxde-common-0.5.5-r1. Patch thanks to Markos Chandras
