emerge --info =app-emulation/virtualbox-4.1.0

when trying to update to virtualbox-4.1.0, emerging fails with this message:
/var/tmp/portage/app-emulation/virtualbox-4.1.0/work/VirtualBox-4.1.0_OSE/out/linux.amd64/release/bin/tstVMStructRC: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

have no idea what happens, a small sample c++ program finds libstdc++ and compiles fine...
