I switched from ffmpeg to libav and now vlc cannot emerge because it needs ffmpeg which is blocked by libav.

The vlc-ebuild tests ffmpeg ? ( >=media-video/ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20090201 )
As the oldest stable version of ffmpeg in portage is 0.5_p20373 there is no need to test against 0.4.9 anymore and as there is virtual/ffmpeg now and vlc works fine with libav, it is safe to replace this test with ffmpeg ? ( virtual/ffmpeg ).
I changed the ebuild for vlc-1.1.8 and it emerged and works without problems.
