Please stabilize sys-apps/portage-2.1.9.42. It's only been in the tree for a week, but it should be safe since the code hasn't had any really big changes during the last couple of months. This will be the first stable release with support for EAPI 4. Bug 349307 tracks bugs fixed since 2.1.9.25.

This version fails to install on x86 standard and amd64 hardened on preinst. Exits unexpectedly. I have 4 production amd64 hardened guest os machines and 1 physical x86 that I've tried updating on, all fail on the same error. I thought that maybe it was a problem with having python3 set as a use flag. Attempted to use one of the machine's without python3 and still received same result. Stable for HPPA.
Tested OK on SPARC with Python 2.6/2.7. never tested with Python 3.1. Could stabilise.
