Is there a known dependancy issue that prevents cut and paste to work? For me copy paste inside gnumeric works without a problem. But cutting and pasting basically results in empty cells, which cannot be reverted with the undo option either. Reproducible: Always

Reclosing.
(In reply to comment #3) > Reopen this bug report when Gnumeric upstream thinks > it's actually their problem. > If Gnumeric upstream use GNOME GUI, this bug seems to be unconfirmable by upstream. I don't think, that it's XFce issue. I'm nearly shure, that this bug could be confirmed in any GUI excluding GNOME. P.S. In my case in Gnumeric 1.8 (also without complete GNOME installation) 'cut' function worked fine.
If you think this is a Xfce problem, you should file it as a bug in http://bugzilla.xfce.org/ and link the upstream gnome bug there. With 3 people in Gentoo Xfce team and propably nobody using gnumeric, it's unlikely this gets solved or even tested "here". Thanks a lot

I'll be very, very surprised, if in Gentoo team only GNOME users uses Gnumeric. For initial check wanted anyone, who uses Gnumeric without GNOME (not only XFce users). And it will be very good to try to detect the more common dependency structure issue (try to reproduce the anothe one I remember: about net-nds/gq and storing passwords, which also wasn't reproduced by GNOME-user developer).
For what it's worth, I can confirm this bug using xfce-base/xfce-meta-4.8 and app-office/gnumeric-1.10.14 I'll see what I can do about installing a light weight wm tonight, and test cutting and pasting in gnumeric with that.
(In reply to comment #10) > I'll see what I can do about installing a light weight wm tonight, and test > cutting and pasting in gnumeric with that. Seems to be fixed (at least in part of cut function) in app-office/gnumeric-1.10.17
Propably a duplicate of 358135 (more or less) http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6521#c24 <upstream quote> Currently the xfce4-settings-helper provides an X11 clipboard manager that works properly for the default clipboard based on pure X11 code and not Gtk. The manager in clipman stays as is currently, and I'm marking this bug as LATER. </upstream quote> I'm curious, does installing and running xfce4-clipman-plugin help?
(In reply to comment #12) > I'm curious, does installing and running xfce4-clipman-plugin help? It did get to work again. And also with parcellite iirc.
(In reply to comment #12) > Propably a duplicate of 358135 (more or less) > I don'y use Inkscape. But in listed description to my mind the duplication if presents, is just less. > I'm curious, does installing and running xfce4-clipman-plugin help? > Short summary :) 1. I have not installed xfce-extra/xfce4-clipman-plugin (and never had it installed); 2. In about app-office/gnumeric-1.10.14 I've find particular copy buffer handling issue: copying worked fine, cutting failed. 3. In app-office/gnumeric-1.10.17 this issue was gone away. So, _this_ bug (gnumeric issue) to my mind should be closed (perhaps together with removing or masking app-office/gnumeric-1.10.13(15)) as FIXED. May be, with opening common tracker-like bug for GNOME apps issues in non-GNOME environment. It looks not well, that no users of different DE (not GNOME and not XFce4) checked this issue.
Closing as per last comment.
(In reply to comment #15) > Closing as per last comment. And what about traker-like bug for GNOME-apps issues outside GNOME? I can remember and recheck olg issue with gq LDAP client password handling (wich was not reproduced by upstream, which uses GNOME)... :)
