It's an upstream problem, but the ebuild already patches gpa.desktop with desktop-file-validate.patch, so I figured this belongs here. The "GenericName" entries in gpa.desktop should be renamed to "Name" entries, see http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s05.html "GNU Privacy Assistant" is a specific application name, not a generic one. The optional generic name (if desired) could be something like "Cryptographic Keyring Manager". Incidentally, this fix would make application menu entries having "GNU Privacy Assistant" for gpa, not just "gpa".
Fixed in -r1. Thanks for reporting. *gpa-0.9.1_pre20100416-r1 (10 Dec 2010) 10 Dec 2010; Dane Smith <c1pher@gentoo.org> +gpa-0.9.1_pre20100416-r1.ebuild, +files/gpa-desktop-file-validate-new.patch: Revision bump. New gpa-desktop-file-validate patch wrt bug 340747. Small QA fix.
