When I emerge svxlink, installation through ebuild is ok but qtel isn't installed in /usr/bin. There is a menu for it but it couldn't find qtel. Created attachment 247052 [details] shows what is installed during emerge svxlink
qtel relies on qt3 which got dropped from Gentoo in spring 2010. So svxlink ebuild does not build qtel atm. Upstream is working on a qt4 port, but with low priority.
Indeed... In reality, qtel should be a separate ebuild, since one might want to install svxlink on a headless system without X. Conversely, I as a user of EchoLink would prefer Qtel on its own without remotetrx & co on my Yeeloong. Soon as I get some of the Gentoo/MIPS stuff out of the way I'll be revisiting this ebuild, which needs a version bump and an overhaul (where I'll address bug #335307 at the same time).
(In reply to comment #3) > Indeed... In reality, qtel should be a separate ebuild, since one might want to > install svxlink on a headless system without X. Splitting into two separate ebuilds may be a good idea. If time permits I will try out the new qt4 branch. Let us see how far it is from a working state.
On nov 5th 2011 a new svxlink-11.11 was released. Release notes:The main focus in this release was to get the Qt code (e.g. Qtel) moved from using Qt version 3 to Qt version 4. Note that the Qtel config will be lost when installing the new version. A number of bugs have been fixed, both in Qtel and SvxLink, and smaller additions to existing features have been made. http://freecode.com/projects/svxlink Just for your info and maybe this is what we were waiting for... (or not?)
Lack of progress and masked for 7 months with a "removal in 30 days" tag. I removed the package.
