Description John Moe 2010-09-01 22:41:37 UTC
On two systems, gdal-1.6.3-r1 fails to compile, I believe with the error "my_compiler.h: No such file or directory". Googling leads me to believe this is related to the upgrade today to mysql-5.1.50.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. eix-sync
2. emerge -aDNuv world
3. revdep-rebuild

Or afterwards, simply:
1. emerge -1av gdal
Actual Results:
 * Messages for package sci-libs/gdal-1.6.3-r1:

 * User-specified configure options are not set.
 * If needed, set GDAL_CONFIGURE_OPTS to enable grass support.
 * ERROR: sci-libs/gdal-1.6.3-r1 failed:
 *   emake failed
 *
 * Call stack:
 *     ebuild.sh, line  47:  Called src_compile
 * environment, line 5910: Called die
 * The specific snippet of code:
 *       emake -j1 || die "emake failed";
 *
 * If you need support, post the output of 'emerge --info =sci-libs/gdal-1.6.3-r1',
 * the complete build log and the output of 'emerge -pqv =sci-libs/gdal-1.6.3-r1'.
 * The complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/gdal-1.6.3-r1/temp/build.log'.
 * The ebuild environment file is located at '/var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/gdal-1.6.3-r1/temp/environment'.
 * S: '/var/tmp/portage/sci-libs/gdal-1.6.3-r1/work/gdal-1.6.3'

Expected Results:
emerge gdal (and revdep-rebuild) completes successfully

I added =dev-db/mysql-5.1.50-r1 to my keywords file and everything updated successfully. I'm x86 here in case it matters.
Comment 4 John Moe 2010-09-04 01:56:30 UTC
I've just done an emerge --sync and emerge -aDNuv world, followed by a revdep-rebuild, and mysql-5.1.50-r1 has gone stable and been pulled in, and gdal-1.6.3-r1 has built fine.
