Stable on x86 and amd64 here for months.

The reason this doesn't compile against postgresql-9.x is because... it isn't supposed to:

  http://www.postgis.org/news/20100204/

(it supports up to 8.5 trunk).

If there's going to be a version to compile against postgresql-9.x, then we need to bump PostGIS to 1.5.1. I'll post this in the bug you referenced, too.

We don't want 1.5.0 to be stabilized as 1.5.2-r1+ will be the target for stabilization.
