I just bought a new digital camera, a canon digital ixus 330. The current gphoto2 2.0-r1 does not contain a driver for this model. However the gphoto2 CVS already has this model (i compiled and tested it). Please be aware that the CVS as of this date needs readline 4.2 (atleast). Is it possible release a new version of gphoto2 ? with regards, Robbin
unfortunately we cannot package cvs software as there is no way to assure that others get the same files, get working files or the integrity of the cvs dump, so in this case you will have to install from cvs yourself and go from there. it has been suggested to add cvs ebuilds, but its not possible to support such things since the target is constantly fluid. So, I cannot update the gphoto2 ebuild until they have released dated snapshots or a new version is avaiable.
Well, we'll see... But first go to: http://n-dimensional.de/projects/digicam/software/snapshots/ Get the latest snapshot, compile it, and let me know. (specifying the snapshot version). - stroke
Spider :) I've posted my comment when your wasn't there yet
I'll leave this open, and see if the submitter tries what has been suggested.
downloaded gphoto2-2.0.1dev9-2002-06-02 snapshot. I had to upgrade to readline 4.2a after ./autgen.sh i had to manually edit Makefile, removed "docs" from "SUBDIRS" on line 133 to get it compiled completely. Installed it, and played for a minute with my camera, so it seems to work.
All right, gphoto2 2.1.0 released. (So I remember to add this one instead of the cvs snapshot).
gphoto 2.1 still isn't in portage. you can find working ebuilds here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6558
