As you can see in bug 322089, sihp1020.tar.gz fails too.

Any activity on this? Printer is not working now and trying to remerge the files, but can't get this one. Getting same error.

But got another problem, while send printer a "test page", then printer show "Sending print file, 364 bytes..." in cups web interface; while send another page by OpenOffice can still print. Why?

Another question: There's ppd file for hpljP1008, but why is sihpP1006 there, which is a binary file for sihpP1006. May someone explain it 8-)

hmm couldn't get that to work. Maybe tried emerged wrong one. This driver is so much better than others. So just went to authors website and manually installed since Gentoo isn't supplying it. Works perfect with my HP LaserJet 1022 just like before. Had to redo the entire system so NEEDED this driver again. 

Haven't seen a good reason why have ebuild but can't get it through portage. Maybe I missed that explaination. Could someone point it out?

The old broken ebuilds have been removed from the tree. Please use net-print/foo2zjs-99999999.

Short instructions:

# echo "=net-print/foo2zjs-99999999 **" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
# emerge -av net-print/foo2zjs
