Hello,

Please find attached jags-2.0.0.ebuild.

JAGS (Just Another Gibbs Sampler) is a program for the analysis of Bayesian models using Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods, specifically the Gibbs sampler.
JAGS aims are to become the reference for bayesian analysis in the UNIX world replacing the very popular BUGS software, be extensible, and become a platform of experimentation

The ebuild proposed is for version 2. JAGS 1 has been in active development for at least 3 years. In this time period it has been increasingly popular amongst GNU/Linux bayesians (and MAC users as well), since it is a perfect replacement for the WinBugs/OpenBugs, and integrates well with R.

I suggest sci-mathematics/jags.

Notice that this ebuild requires blas and lapack.

Xavier

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild
submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely
manner. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The
sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to
commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry
into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this
and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)

Thanks,
On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team,
Markos.

Hi Xavier,

Were you able to add the ebuild to the Sunrise overlay? I manage a few servers and have users who wish to use this package. If not, I can manually install the ebuild, but I'd rather do it the "proper way". :)

Thanks,
Anand

Hi Anand,

I recently changed my working computer, and have not been able to install and tweak the sunrise overlay yet. Sorry. I would like to do it in the following days, but it is my first contribution to gentoo ebuilds and it has taken me some time to do it until I get accostumed.

Hi,

Thanks for your contribution. I pushed the ebuild with modifications in our science overlay for now.
Please test or tell us on how to actually test it.

Thanks

Hi Sébastien,

Thank you for adding the ebuild to the science overlay. I hope soon it will be on the official gentoo overlay.

I sent an email to the gentoo-science list some time ago announcing it:
http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-science/msg_b9e00519defcfad24b0c5ad93978fae8.xml

I have tested the ebuild in x86 platform and it works, either with the reference and atlas blas and lapack libraries.

Can this packaged be included in offline gentoo-x86 tree? As a gentoo prefix[1] user, I can only copy from gentoo-x86 systematicly to the prefix tree.

I moved it to the main tree. Should hit a mirror close to you within hours.
Thanks!

Thanks a lot Thomas :) I have tested it on amd64-linux[1]. Could you please also add the keyword "~amd64-linux"?

Yours,
Benda
