Active-DVI 1.9.0 released some time ago.

Changelog grabbed from the tarball:
        - EPS files are read by advi and sent to gs
        - splash.dvi is now distributed and correctly installed  
        - examples are distributed but not compiled by default
        - added conf/jpfonts.conf in the disbribution
	- gs path is now set by configure
	- Added support for gzip and bzip2 compressed files. 
	- Fixed advi.man  (provided mostly by Debian managers).
	- Included security patches (provided by Debian managers).

Patch from Gentoo bug 292213 is still applicable.

Seems to miss some LaTeX deps:

Could adding of "dev-texlive/texlive-latexextra" to virtual/latex-base's RDEPEND be actually bearable?

"Local" fix could be also applied to app-text/active-dvi-1.9.ebuild:

no, this would kill the point of a rather minimal virtual... tl-latexextra dep should be added to advi DEPENDs

Looks good on x86, but =app-text/htmlc-2.21.0 should also get keyworded together with it.
