At the moment dev-libs/openssl is masked. At some stage it will be unmasked and the current stable app-crypt/mit-krb5-1.6.3-r6 won't compile against it. This issue has been reported upstream (though hasn't shown up in RT yet -http://krbdev.mit.edu/rt/). pkinit_crypto_openssl.c:3647: error: too few arguments to function 'EVP_PKEY_decrypt' pkinit_crypto_openssl.c: In function 'load_cas_and_crls': emerge --info Portage 2.2_rc67 (default/linux/amd64/10.0, gcc-4.4.3, glibc-2.10.1-r1, 2.6.32-gentoo-r6 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: Linux-2.6.32-gentoo-r6-x86_64-AMD_Athlon-tm-_64_X2_Dual_Core_Processor_4200+-with-gentoo-2.0.0 Timestamp of tree: Sat, 20 Mar 2010 07:15:04 +0000 distcc 3.1 x86_64-pc-linux-gnu [enabled] app-shells/bash: 4.0_p35 dev-java/java-config: 1.3.7-r1, 2.1.10 dev-lang/python: 2.5.4-r4, 2.6.4-r1, 3.1.1-r1 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.1.0_beta1 dev-util/cmake: 2.6.4-r3 sys-apps/baselayout: 2.0.0 sys-apps/openrc: 9999 sys-apps/sandbox: 2.2 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.63-r1 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10.3, 1.11 sys-devel/binutils: 2.18-r3 sys-devel/gcc: 4.1.2, 4.2.3, 4.3.4, 4.4.3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.4.1 sys-devel/libtool: 2.2.6b virtual/os-headers: 2.6.30-r1 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" ACCEPT_LICENSE="* -@EULA PUEL sun-bcla-java-vm dlj-1.1 skype-eula" CBUILD="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -msse -msse2 -mmmx -m3dnow" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /srv/localhost/jboss-bin-4/all/conf/jacorb.properties /srv/localhost/jboss-bin-4/all/conf/jboss-minimal.xml /srv/localhost/jboss-bin-4/all/conf/jboss-service.xml /srv/localhost/jboss-bin-4/all/conf/jndi.properties .......................
(In reply to comment #0) > This issue has been reported upstream (though hasn't shown up in RT yet > -http://krbdev.mit.edu/rt/). http://krbdev.mit.edu/rt/Ticket/Display.html?id=6688 mit-krb5-1.8 works with openssl-1.0.0. Please bump as per bug #311487

mit-krb5 is bumped, can this bug be closed?
>= 1.8.0 is fine and 1.8.2 is even stable now
