Description:   Opened: 2003-10-11 16:20 0000
When the workspace switcher is used to switch workspaces by clicking on the
square representing a new workspace it re-centers the windows on that workspace
to where the mouse click was. So, in order for the windows to be properly
placed when switching workspaces, the mouse click must be *exactly* on the
upper-left corner of the workspace to be chosen. If the click is anywhere else
in the box, the windows are moved off-screen to the upper-left. I can provide
screenshots if desired.

This was working fine up until the last week or two and corresponded to the
raft of gnome changes that just went through.

I'm using sawfish 1.3 as my window manager because I can't stand the others, or
they don't have the same capabilities. Please don't suggest that I change
window managers.

I tried reverting gnome-panel back to 2.2.2.2 and 2.2.2 but the abhorrent
behavior persisted. I also can't find any setting that would change this
behavior but would welcome input along these lines. The .gnome* directories
have not been re-created after the 2.2.2 -> 2.4 transition. Ditto if these
should be removed and re-created.

Thanks!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update to current gnome packages
2. Add "Workspace Switcher" to the panel, if not already present.
3. Make sure more than one workspace exists.
4. Click on a workspace with the mouse anywhere but the upper-left corner.
5. Be quite annoyed the windows are now shifted off the screen :)

Actual results: Windows are now shifted off the screen to the upper-left in the
new workspace (and all others).

Expected results: Windows stayed where they were placed before and the new
workspace is selected.

Reproducable: Always. :(
