Hi, So it looks like it is odbc related. I admit I haven't tested all the database interfaces when I added them. I think I tested mysql as it is already installed on my system, I trusted paraview for the other two, I shouldn't have. However I had made them conditional to the "overview" use flag, I don't know if it will build without it, can you try to build with the overview use flag?

I am guessing you don't use odbc database with paraview as we didn't really offer that option before so I am hoping it won't be a problem for you. The problem is that paraview's build system is a bit broken. Presently, it doesn't find the odbc libraries but still builds some of the interface code and then of course fails to link. Markus

The lesson here is that neither I or Markus have an mpi enabled machine. I guess I'll correct that in the near future (mpi machine that is). The other problem is that this is really a new bug a should have been filled separately. This one is marked fixed and I am the only one left in CC so Markus may not hear about it. I'll have to have a closer look what is going on. In any case, I completely agree with Francois, please try to file new issues as separate bugs. This should be fixed now I hope - please re-sync your tree in an hour or so and try again. The H5Part plugin is fairly broken in several regards right now, including - the H5PART_HAS_MPI macro isn't part of the build system at all and hence doesn't do anything - even if it would be the snippet pointed out by Justin will still break if hdf5 was compiled with mpi support. Upstream knows about this and as a remedy I've added a small patch. Furthermore, per #302621 paraview now requires the mpi useflag if hdf5 was compiled with it. If there a still issues please re-open the bug. best, Markus
