I am up to date with ~x86 as of 2003/09/25, the new package ssh added earlier today is marked as emerge -up world [ebuild N ] net-misc/ssh-3.2.5 I don't understand this, as everything else is up to date now, and as ssh is a new ebuild, nothing should depend on it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Expected Results: I'd expect ssh-3.2.5 to be ignored, unless I decide to emerge it. grep ssh /var/cache/edb/world net-misc/kssh I have a New open bug, on emerge -Du world installing net-mail/ssmtp, when I have net-mail/postfix installed, and virtual/mta net-mail/postfix in the virtuals file. Mention that in case this is not something to do with ssh, but some kind of portage craziness.
Sorry I meant to paste this in virtual/mta with emerge -Dup world - http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29499
I second this. And in the process it fuckes up all the openssh scripts I have on my machine, because ssh now defaults to /usr/bin/ssh which is the ssh-3.2.5 version (not openssh).
this has already been fixed ... it was a typo that was on rsync servers for about an hour
