With Kde 3.5 and 4.3 installed in separate slots, startx can be used to start one or the other depending on which version of startkde is specified in .xinitrc. BUT kde3 picks up nepomuk/plasma and a host of other crap from kde4. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install kde 3.5 and 4.3 2. edit .xinitrc to start kde3 3. type startx Actual Results: KDE3 comes up with a mixture of KDE3 and KDE4 desktop features. Expected Results: Just KDE3 like before. Please don't tell me to "just use kdm" -- the ability to start several X-sessions at once for different users is critical. KDE is *supposed* to be able to work this way! jesnow@Armstrong ~ $ equery list kde [ Searching for package 'kde' in all categories among: ] * installed packages [I--] [ ] kde-base/kde-env-4.3.1 (4.3) Similar to the following: http://bugs.gentoo.org/237718 http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=243062 But not the same.
KDE 3.5.10 has been masked for removal, this won't be fixed...
