Description Hugo Mildenberger 2009-10-14 14:34:34 UTC
I am repeatedly trying to add emerge --info to an existing bug which I opened here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288977. (It was even difficult to enter that bug itself, as bugzille responded with something like it would be insecure to apply the -t switch to a certain perl script, leading to eight copies of the same bug, while retrying different browser options).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288977
2.login as me
3.attach emerge--info.txt from my disk
Actual Results:
Bugzilla has suffered an internal error. Please save this page and send it to bugzilla@gentoo.org with details of what you were doing at the time this message appeared.

While uploading an attachment, if you recieve an error about "Undefined subroutine Fh::slice", please logout and login again, making sure to load any page before trying to upload again.

from the front page. did you try this?

No. But now I killed all konquerer instances, and will try again to attach the bugzilla error page.... It didn't work. Again checked settings: no proxy, java script enabled, user agent name enabled, but possibly cookies do not work, even though set be accepted for gentoo.org. Will retry with globally enabled cookies navigating from front page.

Bugzilla's error status page

Navigating from front page, with session cookies globally enabled ...

So, as disabled cookies seem to be the problem, you may want to change the recommandation to enable cookies on bugzilla's login page?

Currently it reads like this:

(Note: you should make sure cookies are enabled for this site. Otherwise, you will be required to log in frequently.)

It should perhaps read: You have to make sure cookies are enabled for this site.Otherwise Gentoo's bugzilla will fail frequently and unexpectedly.
