I would like to ask for the stabilization of Ruby 1.8.7. It has been around quite a while, and we don't know of any packages that do not work with it. A complete build of all reverse dependencies is imho not neccesary, but feel free to test as you like. Test instructions: The ususal FEATURES="test" will run a basic test suite which should pass. Then there's an additional set of tests that you get installed with USE="rubytests". cp the einfo'd directory to a place you can write to, then invoke them like this: alex@neon test % TERM="dumb" ruby18 runner.rb Warnings (especially regarding OpenSSL) can be ignored, as can all failed tests with messages like "Should have the correct message." or "The message should match correctly.", and the "test_inspect(TC_OpenStruct)" test. So we have: =app-admin/eselect-ruby-20090909 =dev-lang/ruby-1.8.7_p174-r1 Target keywords : "alpha amd64 arm hppa ia64 ppc ppc64 s390 sh sparc x86" TIA, the Ruby guys
