Yeah, I know, 0-day bump et all, but: - consolekit 0.3.1 was out for much longer and is still not in the tree - since 0.3.1 it depends on polkit, instead of policykit
A word of explanation: (as you probably know) polkit is the name of 0.9X (pre-1.0) releases of policykit in gnome overlay, that are API incompatible with earlier versions.
we don't care about ck-0.4 right now because it is expected that dbus interface changed in a way that will break every app currently out there. Do you need it for something special ?
Not particularly, I'm simply going down the short list of (semi-)Gnome apps I'm using (evince, pulseaudio, perhaps now devicekit-disks will join), due to the release and checking how do the deps look like.
I've been testing some of the prerelease GNOME 2.28 bits from the gnome overlay - gnome-power-manager uses polkit now, which in turn uses the new consolekit apis, when policykit integration is enabled. Presumably this version of consolekit should be added to the tree along with the other GNOME stuff for 2.28? (but probably not before then)
Sorry for nagging, but I see that 0.4.0 was just added to gnome overlay. That would be OK, if not for one of the patches for 0.4.1 in ConcoleKit git being called "Fix a crasher", so 0.4.1 was not a trivial bump.
(In reply to comment #5) > Sorry for nagging, but I see that 0.4.0 was just added to > gnome overlay. So it seems sometime ago the upstream SRC_URI changed, which means I didn't see 0.4.1. It's been bumped in the overlay now. Also, I'm already in the freedesktop herd (via gnome), no need to CC me. Also, I'm marking this bug a dupe of bug 274411 since it'll be added to tree with PolicyKitOne, and there's no point having multiple bugs for this stuff. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 274411 ***
