I have written a new HOWTO for installing LXDE on a Gentoo machine.

Very cool, but I'm afraid we need all the lxde components stabilized before we can add this to our tree, as we can't recommend ~arch for all this stuff. Might want to talk to yngwin et al to see what their stabilization plans are. Not just for lxde-base/* but also for the other components like pcmanfm.
I made the bug and CCed him on it in hopes that he will see it. I'm planning on talking with Ben sometime soon about these issues. He is my mentor for my developer status, as I'm going to work on LXDE. I figured it couldn't be done because of all the ~arch stuff. I just wanted to get the bug listed for it. Thanks for all that you do Josh! :)
Nice work. I guess we could develop this guide in our LXDE project space first, and when we stable lxde-meta-0.4.2 next month (hopefully) it can go into the documentation section.
I've done a slight edit, and uploaded it to our LXDE project webspace: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/lxde/lxde-howto.xml Please let us know if you have any improvements.
Looks really good, and I'm glad to see it at least in the project documentation area. Thanks Ben!
Still want this in our main doc repo, guys? Now that it's stable and all. :)
I will make some updates to it (since the packages are now stable), and will upload the changes as an attachment. Thanks for reminding me, Josh. :)
Created attachment 211599 [details] Modifications to the HOWTO - ready to commit This is the new version of the LXDE HOWTO (1.2). There are several semantic changes, as well as updates regarding keywording (as LXDE is now stable).
Thanks; I'll add it.
Okay, I reviewed the guide, made lots of minor changes, and got it into the tree. It's in our Desktop Documentation section with the other DE guides. Thanks for all your hard work, folks! Lookin' beautiful.
