Today, I upgraded to KDE 4.2.2. I unmasked it and upgraded from 4.2.1. I also emerged the testing Qt 4.5, so KDE 4.2.2 was built against that version of Qt. After logging out and in again, the Applications menu in Kickoff is empty. See attached screenshots. Launcher does not recognize any K application. I also noticed that in the file associations system setting, no application is listed for any extension (eg. for txt, the list of application handlers is empty). I suspect this is some kind of a path problem, but I don't know where to look.

So what :] We masked 4.2.2 on purpose. If you really want to use it use -kdeprefix. This is not a bug, it is work in progress we are aware of.
OK, the least I could do is to report the problem, right? Thanks for letting me know that you are aware of these issues.

I am just laughting that people are so active that they test the work which i am literaly touching right now :] I am aware of it and we will definetly fix it when it goes unmasked (tho no revision bumps). But your report is most complex i saw so far. Most pple just jump up on irc stating that +kdeprefix is broken :D Well enjoy your kde, and hope you will find it not much buggy when we unmask it :]
No offence taken. :-) Tomorrow I will test with -kdeprefix. Thanks for all the nice work. :-)
