Description Christian Pontesegger 2009-04-01 18:21:12 UTC
sancho-bin fails tu run. When fired up in the console the splash screen appears. All the icons within the splash light up - so initialization works fine. But before the main window appears, following error message is thrown

/opt/sancho/lib/libswt-mozilla-gtk-3309.so: undefined symbol: _ZN4nsID5ParseEPKc

and sancho is terminated.

Using google this problem might somehow be related to eclipse which I think sancho uses for its GUI.

Sancho worked fine before I upgraded from XFCE to KDE 4.2.1

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.on a fresh system emerge KDE 4.2.1
2.emerge sancho-bin
3.run sancho-bin from console

... at least that's what I did

Actual Results:
sancho fails to run

Expected Results:
sancho to run as expected

It works if you start it like that: MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME="" sancho
(Bug 259579)

works for me, thanks.

Is this something that should be mentioned in the emerge info?

Not quite. Identical problem, same error message. That solution does not work for me on two platforms where this bug is showing up:
x86_64 (amd64x2 laptop) and x86-hardened (piii desktop).

I tried to re-emerge xulrunner as suggested in forums too, no luck.
Comment 4 disperato 2009-10-16 23:17:10 UTC
ok, it is working, but version is 0.9.4-59 for x86_64 downloaded from the developer's site (he says he dealt with xulrunner issues).

I had to set system and user's VM to 64 bit version (sun-jdk). Any attempt with 0.9.4-58 failed, no matter what confs.
