We need stable keywords on this now since sys-apps/portage-2.1.6 uses it.

Created an attachment (id=176005) [details]
sample news item for testing

Save this as
$PORTDIR/metadata/news/2008-12-20-portage-2.1.6/2008-12-20-portage-2.1.6.en.txt
and you should get a message from emerge telling you that you have a news item.
The message will display every time that you run emerge, until you've run
`eselect news read 2008-12-20-portage-2.1.6` to read the message.
