Please unmask sys-libs/db:4.7. It seems to work correctly. (I tested Subversion BDB repositories.)

I don't think it's as safe as you claim yet.
Try to get OpenLDAP to compile against 4.7 for example.

The latest version of openldap explicitly picks db 4.5 (or 4.4 or 4.3), so this
doesn't look to be a blocker.
