Description Mariusz Ceier 2008-11-22 18:52:38 UTC
After setting "multitarget" use flag for sys-devel/binutils binutils does not compile.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. USE="multitarget" emerge sys-devel/binutils
2. emerge fails
3.

Actual Results:
configuring in ${S}/binutils fails with "C compiler cannot create executables" error message

Expected Results:
emerge successful

I made patch for this bug, and will attach it soon. It does small change in toolchain-binutils.eclass.

Better proposed patch

Linking against shared libs instead of static ones.
Added libbfd. Cross compiling with USE="multitarget" works now, tested with command: USE="multitarget" crossdev -t x86_64-pc-linux-gnu
