DISTCC_DIR is specified every path i think it would help (/etc/conf.d/distccd, /etc/profile, .bashrc, /etc/init.d/distcc)
actually - distcc works fine and distributes compilation, but shows that messages

ps: i made directory /root/.distcc allowed for writing everyone and even set 777 to root, try to symlink it to /var/tmp/portage/.distcc

pps: iae /var/tmp/portage/.distcc is succesfully used during compilation process

How did you try to change DISTCC_DIR from the default value of /var/tmp/portage/.distcc to /root/.distcc ?

Changing DISTCC_DIR from default value was not part of the instructions... so maybe that is where you went wrong.

Please post the output of `emerge -vp --nodeps sys-devel/distcc' too.

Looks like this patch is doing it:
sys-devel/distcc/files/distcc-create-dir.patch

which was introduced in distcc-2.18.3-r13.ebuild.

@Ivan: Please confirm that is indeed the version of distcc you are using.

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

[ebuild R ] sys-devel/distcc-2.18.3-r10 USE="gnome gtk -hardened -ipv6 (-selinux)" 0 kB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB
