grass-6.3.0 depends on >=dev-db/postgresql-7.3. Several other packages (php,
mapnik, ... ) depend on dev-db/postgresql-base. dev-db/postgresql and
dev-db/postgresql-base seems to be incompatible,  see comment 2 of bug 243982.

So 'emerge -vD world' fails for me, if grass is installed.

Why grass does not depend on something like virtual/postgresql-base? If I replace >=dev-db/postgresql-7.3 by >=virtual/postgresql-base-7.3, I can 'emerge world' and grass-6.3.0.
