What's your portage version, cause I think this was fixed in more recent ones ?
Comment 2 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-26 21:01:17 UTC
Please post your `emerge --info' too.
Comment 3 David Ripton 2008-10-27 13:01:36 UTC

Comment 4 Wormo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-28 00:38:07 UTC
Yep, that's as recent as it gets. Let's have portage team take a look.
Comment 5 Wormo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-28 00:39:24 UTC
Sigh, wrong devs... assign to right ones...
Comment 6 Jesus Rivero (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-11-30 23:00:33 UTC
I think the easiest solution is to add line=None in line 34 of output.py in /usr/lib/portage/pym/

def _formatwarning(message, category, filename, lineno, line=None):

works for 2.6, 2.5 and 2.4

Thanks, I've fixed this in svn (same as bug 252840).

Reassigning back to tools-portage so we can get the deprecation notice fixed.

Created attachment 176716 [details, diff]
use new api by default and fall back to the deprecated api if necessary

If this patch is saved as /tmp/deprecated.patch, then it can be applied as follows:

 cd /usr/lib/esearch
 patch -p1 < /tmp/deprecated.patch
Comment 9 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-12-30 05:35:00 UTC
Thanks, Zac! Fixed in esearch-0.7.1-r5
