The upgrade to fluxbox-1.1.0 has broken my fbpager. Specifically: - Does not highlight which workspace you are on - does not show any the outlines of windows in the display
also, if I remove/add a workspace, the pager does not change in size

Also fbpager is no more capable to show the right number of workspaces (4 in my settings) when run from ./fluxbox/startup I've tried switching to bbpager in startup but won't work either bbpager works fine if launched when fluxbox already running.
I tried a bunch of other pages for testing to help with the bug: wmpager - doesn't update count of desktops obpager - doesn't update count netwmpager - actively blocks creation of more desktops fbpanel - acts correctly, but isn't themeable and can't go in the slit and doesn't support window dragging in the pager.
There is also fluxter, which fails with the message: Cannot connect to window manager
The bad news is, fbpager is unmaintained and fluxbox definitely broke it. As well as any other bbpager-based pagers that use the older protocol. Most newer pagers that use libwnck or adhere to the ewmh spec should work fine. For example rox-base/pager functions normally. The good news is, I'll soon be adding a new pager 'ipager' (http://www.useperl.ru/ipager/index.en.html) which will hopefully be a fairly good replacement for most people.
Added x11-misc/ipager-1.1.0 - Why not give it a try and see if it's a decent enough replacement for fbpager? Run it once to have it create a config file for you (~/.ipager/ipager.conf), then you can customize many things: - It can be placed in the slit (option ipager.in_slit) - It can be themed (*.background.color, *.border.color) - Also, like fbpager you can drag a window to another desktop. - Plus it has this sexy 'zoom' feature As for any of the other pagers that rely on the older non-ewmh protocol - I'm not sure what I can say. Maybe file bugs with those package's upstreams so they know they don't work with the new fluxbox? I don't think that fluxbox upstream is planning to add in the old protocol, but I'll ask them about it and report back here.
fbpager doesnt show up no more at all with fluxbox-1.1.1 . In Slit mode, it appears, in non-slit-mode it runs, but doesnt show any window.
Good news - The fluxbox devs have updated fbpager after all! Git repo: http://git.fluxbox.org/?p=fbpager.git All interested parties -> Give this a try. If they don't do an actual release soon, I'll probably do a snapshot ebuild.
it runs now, and flips between desktops, but does not display any windows, and the width in the slit is double the configured value. I have "fbpager.workspace.width: 84" to match my gkrellm, and it's twice as wide as the gkrellm when I run it.
I've just added x11-misc/fbpager-20090221, which is a snapshot of the latest HEAD of the git tree. This seems to work for me with the latest Fluxbox.
