Please find attached a version of the parrot ebuild that builds and installs the as of this moment newest release 0.6.4 All I head to change was the author part of the download link - this ebuild does not make any use of probably new stuff in the release; I guess is nevertheless a good idea to let people tinker with this release. regards, Tom Reproducible: Always
Created attachment 162294 [details] ebuild for parrot 0.6.4
Small notification about the description of this ebuild. Indeed, Rakudo Perl will depend on Parrot. But Pugs won't, because it's written in Haskell. And while a haskell compiler for parrot is probably available, it won't be used. So I suggest the description is changed into: Parrot is a JIT-enabled VM which is intended to run dynamic languages efficiently.
Created attachment 163548 [details] parrot-0.6.4 ebuild allowing to build rakudo perl6 This version has an additional use-flag "rakudo"; if active, the perl6 compiler/interpreter will be build and installed alongside parrot.
I think it is missing some useflag and I think the language support could be enabled/disabled passing --languages to Configure.pl at least gmp gdbm glut ssl and unicode
