kitchensync belongs to the kontact suite, so it should appear as a component in kontact if installed, but it doesn't. The ebuilds of every version of kitchensync in portage show this in lines 30-32: # Disabled by default in kontact/plugins/Makefile.am, so check before enabling - 3.4.0_beta1 -- danarmak # KMEXTRA="kontact/plugins/kitchensync" KMEXTRA="kontact/plugins/multisynk" Multisynk is the old way of syncing, deprecated now in favor of opensync, so maybe these lines are remains of an older version (3.4.0_beta1, I suppose). I have recompiled kde-base/kitchensync-3.5.9-r1 after commenting the multisynk line (line 32) and uncommenting the other one (31) and the program works as usual and now appears as a component in kontact. I don't know if there is a reason for not doing that, but it should be fixed. Reproducible: Always
KDE 3.5.10 will feature it.
3.5.10 is in testing, now.
