It seems that the HAL property info.bus has been removed in 0.5.11. That property was used by gpilotd to detect devices added via HAL. The latest code in gnome-pilot SVN adds an extra check for the pda.platform property. I'm attaching a patch which adds that extra code. Reproducible: Always

I am experiencing this problem on my system as well. I created the attached modified ebuild that applies the patch from gnome-pilot SVN already attached to this bug to solve the problem for myself. I'm going to attach it here in case anyone else finds it useful.

patch has been commited, now I suppose we should fast track this to stable since hal 0.5.11 is already stable. @herds, thoughts ?
I think it's ok, the patch is simple enough and makes sense. +1 for fast tracking
hello arches, please proceed to the stabilization of gnome-pilot 2.0.16-r1, it fixes a bug in hal detection with hal-0.5.11 which is currently stable. Target keywords are: amd64 ppc sparc x86. TIA
