The newly stabled pam 1.0.1 ebuild fails for me on x86 with:

 * Your current setup is using one or more of the following modules,
 * that are not built or supported anymore:
 * pam_pwdb, pam_radius, pam_timestamp, pam_console

But I use none of these modules... Please find attached the output of the
ebuild's sed script whose output is grepped for the aforementioned modules.

Please open new bugs to report issues instead of hijacking stable bugs.
As for the error, your mistake is to drop the comments. The failsafe check
_intentionally_ checks comments too.

I have taken this sed snippet from the ebuild.  So this is wrong in the ebuild.
