OpenLDAP has C++ libraries and accompanying header files in the contrib of the tarball, but they are not installed by the ebuild, even when enabling the C++ use flag. This is likely to be caused by not installing anything related to the C++ OpenLDAP libraries in the ebuild for as far as I could see. This would be a nice addition since I'm planning to develop C++ applications accessing OpenLDAP servers. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable c++ use flag (either in /etc/make.conf or through ufed or what-have-you) 2. emerge openldap 3. Try to compile C++ application using the LDAPConnection class or other. Expected Results: Being able to compile C++ apps with OpenLDAP classes. It would be very nice if these would be installed with the "emerge openldap" command and the c++ USE flag enabled. This was with unpacking the openldap-2.3.41.tgz from my distfiles dir. It wasn't patched by the ebuild yet. Thanks in advance for your time and effort.
patches welcome.
Created attachment 168548 [details, diff] Implement the cxx use to build the ldapc++ library Here is a patch to build the ldapc++ contrib to openldap. I am not satisfied with how I dealt with the src_compile part. Maybe I should rewrite this part to be cleaner.
Fixed in 2.4.17-r1.
Please reopen - openldap-2.4.38-r2 is not building libraries libldapcpp, manual build works as expected (flag cxx ignored ?)
