hi. This is a simple terminal mode program for configuring the directories in the X font server's path. It is mostly intended to be used `internally' when ebuilds with fonts are added or removed, but it may be useful as a stand-alone utility in some instances. I patches this to support XF86Config. I suggest media-fonts/chkfontpath.

This is also "needed" by OpenOffice as it is one of the ways OpenOffice searches for fonts on a Linux system. See: http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/fontguide.html#5 I was about to create my own ebuild when I noticed this bug entry. Thanks, Sean
Note that as of right now this already needs to be updated to chkfontpath-1.9.10. There are two small changes to the patch that need to be made for it to work for the new version. I will upload it here.

I'm looking into adding this, this weekend As for the patch, Graham (vladimir) wrote up a perl proggy to do all that, which I'd rather use instead of patching this.
added to portage. Thanks guys.
Awesome to see this ebuild. I'd had a workaround of: http://m8y.org/downloads/chkfontpath Just for OpenOffice. But good to see an official ebuild that actually works :)
Is there any information available explaining why this package has been removed from the tree?
