When emerging logrotate it fails to install a default/example config.

I feel it should as most people will not know how to create one from scratch.

http://penguin.epfl.ch/logrotate_conf.html

this address contains an example logrotate.conf, albeit already configured for another machine.

try:

$ less /usr/share/doc/logrotate-3.6.5/logrotate-default.gz :)
Comment 3 Jon Portnoy (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-05-13 11:24:34 UTC
John, do you feel that it should be installed to /etc?
Comment 4 John Mylchreest (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-05-13 14:07:21 UTC
Avenj, yes I do mate.

I think it should install to /etc mainly because if nothing else, thats what users would expect.

I for one didnt look at logrotate-default.gz, so my appoligies there, it wasnt clear that it was a conf.
