libnjb provides a HAL .fdi file that is used for automatically assigning correct HAL properties to njb devices when they are plugged in. This capability is used by several media players like Banshee and Amarok, but the ebuild does install this file (libnjb.fdi). Per the HAL spec, it should be going into /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/20thirdparty Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install libnjb 2. 3. Actual Results: When the ebuild goes through the install phase it does not install the fdi file. Expected Results: It installs the fdi file into /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/20thirdparty
1/ This doesn't use hal at all. 2/ There's no such file shipped anywhere in the tarball, apparently because of #1. So, what are you exactly suggesting here?
Sorry, I mixed up versions. This file first appears in libnjb 2.2.6, which has been out since last September, but Portage is still stuck on 2.2.5. I've changed this to "enhancement" to act as a wish that in 2.2.6 this file is installed (and that 2.2.6 is made available :-) ), feel free to close/triage/whatever as appropriate.
(In reply to comment #2) > Sorry, I mixed up versions. This file first appears in libnjb 2.2.6 Well, at least I was not hallucinating when I failed to find any reference to HAL/fdi in the versions we ship. :-D
