This version fixes a *very* important bug, please stabilize.

Reproducible: Always

Package Version Current Keywords Masks
============================= =================== ================= =========
dev-haskell/cabal 1.2.3.0 ~x86 K
dev-haskell/parallel 1.0.0.0 ~x86 K
dev-lang/ghc 6.8.2 ~x86 K
app-portage/himerge 0.16.1-r1 ~x86 K

These packages are also needed, is this ok?
Comment 2 Luis Araujo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-01 17:08:11 UTC
Yes, it is ok.

Do I need to open new bugs for them?
Comment 3 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-01 18:26:13 UTC
Honestly...after ghc 6.8.2 went stable, all types of Haskell packages just bail out when remerging (running ghc-updater). Araujo could you sort it out with Haskell team anyhow?
Comment 4 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-01 19:12:46 UTC
Not ready...
Comment 5 Lennart Kolmodin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-02 12:10:05 UTC
Stabilizing dev-lang/ghc requires that a great amount of other packages also goes stable. What previously was just dev-lang/ghc-6.4.2 and dev-lang/ghc-6.6.1 has been split up into several smaller modules, and modeled as many packages in portage.
To properly stabilize ghc-6.8.2 we need to stabilize all those, and test it properly with the other packages in portage.

We'll let you know when it's time.

Thanks

It think it is time to stabilise a newer version..is 0.21.9 good to go?
Comment 7 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-07-06 18:26:37 UTC
Current stable himerge will not compile with newer GHC, so we should aim for 0.21.9
Comment 8 Luis Araujo (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-07-06 19:14:59 UTC
Yes, please stabilize latest Himerge version 0.21.9 after stabilizing ghc6.8 with the necessary libraries.

This is actually the most stable release and so we encourage the installation of it.

Thanks,

amd64/x86 stable, all arches done.
